Business & Marketing Mentoring
Clear thinking. Independent challenge. Practical action.
Running a business or leading a team can sometimes mean being the person everyone else turns to – without always having someone independent to turn to yourself.
LMC Associates provides practical, commercially focused mentoring for business owners, CEOs, senior leaders and marketing professionals who value having an experienced and trusted sounding board.
Working with Lydia McClelland gives you confidential space to step away from day-to-day demands, think through challenges, test ideas and decisions, and focus on the actions that will make the greatest difference.
This isn't mentoring for mentoring's sake.
The aim is greater clarity, better decisions and measurable progress.
Who Lydia Works With
Lydia mentors people at different stages of their leadership and business journey, including:
-
Business owners and CEOs navigating growth, change or new opportunities
-
Senior leaders who value independent challenge and a fresh perspective
-
Marketing Directors and Heads of Marketing looking to increase their strategic and commercial impact
-
Marketing Managers stepping into more senior leadership responsibilities
-
Entrepreneurs and business owners who need greater clarity, structure and accountability
The starting point is always the individual: where are you now, where do you want to get to, and what's getting in the way?
What We Can Work On
Every mentoring relationship is different. The focus is shaped around you, your role, your organisation and what you want to achieve.
Our conversations might explore:
Business growth & strategic priorities
Clarifying where you want to go, identifying opportunities and deciding where to focus your time, energy and resources.
Leadership & decision-making
Working through difficult decisions, building confidence, managing competing priorities and becoming more effective as a leader.
Marketing & commercial strategy
Stepping back from day-to-day activity to consider customers, proposition, marketing, sales and how they connect to wider business growth.
People & capability
Developing your team, tackling performance or capability gaps, delegating effectively and ensuring you have the right people around you.
Career & professional development
Preparing for greater responsibility, stepping into a more senior role, increasing your influence or considering what you want from the next stage of your career.
Managing growth, transition & change
Navigating periods of rapid growth, organisational change, restructuring or simply reaching a point where what worked before isn't going to get you where you want to go next.
Confidence, challenge & accountability
Having an independent person who will listen, ask the difficult questions, challenge your thinking and help ensure that good intentions turn into action.
You don't need to arrive with a perfectly defined challenge. Often, part of the mentoring process is working out what the real issue is – and what needs to happen next.
How Mentoring Works
Mentoring is tailored to the individual, but a typical programme includes:
6 × 75-minute one-to-one sessions delivered over approximately 4–6 months.
Sessions can be held in person or online, with frequency agreed around your objectives and circumstances.
You'll also have access to Lydia between sessions by phone, email or WhatsApp where something arises that would benefit from a quick conversation.
Following each session, key actions and priorities are captured to maintain momentum and accountability.
Where there is a pressing challenge, transition or deadline, sessions can be scheduled more frequently.
Experience You Can Draw On
Lydia is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CFCIM), a full member of the Association of Business Mentors and an AoEC-qualified Executive Coach.
She has held senior marketing, business development and general management roles across economic development, higher education, tourism, arts and visitor attractions and now works with organisations across the UK and Ireland.
This breadth of experience allows Lydia to bring a perspective that extends beyond one particular business discipline – connecting strategy, marketing, sales, people, operations and growth.
Could Mentoring Help You?
You don't need to have everything figured out before getting in touch.
You may simply know that:
-
You're facing an important decision
-
Your business or role is changing
-
You're struggling to prioritise competing demands
-
You want to grow but aren't clear about the next step
-
You're stepping into greater leadership responsibility
-
You want an experienced external perspective
-
You need someone who will challenge you and hold you accountable
Sometimes having the right person to think alongside you can make all the difference.
